The mission of Chapel Hill Surgical Center is to provide safe and effective ambulatory surgical care in a comfortable setting where personal attention can be assured for each patient.
Delivering ambulatory surgical care requires a well-organized and systematic process. The specialized skills of qualified surgical specialists on the medical staff must be supported by anesthesia, nursing, and administrative personnel who are well trained and dedicated to the patient’s well being. The Center’s personnel understand that total care encompasses patient education and advocacy, as well as sensitivity to the physical and emotional needs unique to each patient within the ambulatory surgical environment.
Patient safety is the highest priority at Chapel Hill Surgical Center. From its inception in 1982, the Governing Body of Chapel Hill Surgical Center has limited medical staff privileges to board certified or board eligible surgical specialists. During its 20+ years of existence, Chapel Hill Surgical Center has delivered health care services in a private freestanding ambulatory surgical setting to over 15,000 patients.
Chapel Hill Surgical Center is one of 45 currently licensed freestanding ambulatory surgery centers in the state. We are licensed by the Division of Facility Services of the North Carolina Department of Human Resources and accredited by The Joint Commission for the Accreditation of Healthcare Organization.
